Laying Out Trials in the Farmer Fields
- To evaluate products under real farmer cultivation conditions.
- To test products in various geographies, climatic zones, seasons, and different management practices.
- To collect data and feedback from farmers and field teams to select consistently performing products for advancement.
- Ensures that selected products have already been validated in the farmers’ own fields.
Product Evaluation and Testing
- Trials and testing are conducted at farmers’ fields.
- All cultivation operations are managed by farmers to evaluate real-world performance.
- Each product is tested over a 2-year period across diverse locations.
- After successful evaluation, products move to the “On Farm Demonstration” (OFD) stage in large plots.
- Extensive feedback is gathered from visiting farmers.
- Only products with consistent superior performance are taken forward for commercialization.
